Cool. Here's another hot tip for you. In one of the guard towers in Balmora, there's a sword of White Woe for the taking. Go up to the top of the tower (sorry I don't remember which one), you'll find a guard, a bed, and a standing chest. Stand next to the bed and jump up and you'll sit it on top of the chest. If you position yourself behind the beam and keep jumping and grabbing, you'll get it. As long as the NPC can't see YOU, you can reach out and steal something. Usually.

And whack away at your weapons with those free hammers at the Fighter's Guild every chance you get because it takes a LONG time to build up your armor skills and eventually, you will be stuck out on a long journey and you will HAVE to repair your weapons or you're screwed.

I'm stuck right now in Magyar trying to fly my little flies into the right spot at the end of that little tunnel - but I'm not asking for help yet... just need some more time. Is it my imagination or is the game getting harder? Or am I just a wimp? You can tell me the truth.
