The only thing in common between those two games is that both are TBS, and that´s it. |
Not true. Both are also addicting and very fun to play.

Yeah, WINSPMBT is literally down in the dirt on a tactical battle level. You're not focused on the big picture, but you're wondering if you cross that ridge if there's an ambush in the works.
While on the other hand, you could be fleeing from battle in DS7 and wondering if you're about to get your rear handed to you as you pull back into a mountain pass because there's a Yellow Army stronghold on the other end.

True.
opfire is an interesting feature that gives winspmbt a very particular close tactical feel.
SF, I´m still waiting for that USMC FAQ/tactical guide

Bah, sonnuva gun I'm slow about that.
I've been laid up with work and haven't had much time to get to writing it in a coherent manner. I'll be having some free time all this week, so I do believe that I can work on that and have some of the more modern years up sometime soon.

I love DS7, but I must say WINSPMBT has one feature that DS7 doesn't...

SemperFi,
You might want to check out TacOps as well. USMC TO&E is in the game. So if you want to lay the smack down on that terrorist training camp, you can do it as either the Army or the Marines, your choice.
The game doesn't have nice top down armor models like the SP games, the graphics are downright minimalist. But there's a lot of meat to it. Certain things are treated more realistically than in SP, artillery to name one. There's a demo here if you want to check it out before spending $25.
http://www.battlefront.com/index.htm
On the demo, you can try this, one of the sample scenarios :
Quote: |
Task Force Frolik 2, pits a reinforced USMC Rifle Battalion against an attacking OPFOR motorized rifle regiment (BTR). |
And a nice overview of the game here. http://schlepper.hanse.de/redwolf/tacops-for-cmplayers.html
