If you were going to purchase a hand held title, what genre would you prefer?

As my handheld is usually for quick spats, either an TBS or Arcade Classic are my games of choice. TBS is good because generally, I can take a few turns, save and then be done with it. Arcade Classics are good too, because I can simply play through a few levels of say, Joust and not care if I need to turn it off.
Ooh Rah! Carry on.

RTS (not trying to change the subject) has been done right exactly twice on handhelds:
Warlocked - GBC - Best freaking RTS ever for a handheld.
Mech Platoon - GBA - Not bad, not perfect but not bad. Didn't come close to beating it though

I've heard of Mech Platoon, but Warlocked? Is that an import title JVG?

Nope, it's a US release.
If you've played Goblin Commander (for any of the three big systems) then you have some idea of what Warlocked is like. There are a BUNCH of minigames to unlock too.
Fantastic game all around and highly recommended.

Hmm, gotta check my local GameStop again for a copy. I went to pickup a copy, but got distracted by the bargain rack. Picked up MechWarrior 4: Vengeance, MechWarrior 4: Black Knight and MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries. All for $20.00
So needless to say, I'll be a bit...distracted for awhile.

Lol, I'd go for a Console version of Lumines.
But aside from Strategy Games, Puzzle Games are another great genre to see on handhelds. Especially considering that they have far more power now than they used to.

A RPG, no question.
It's the most patient of genres, easy to get into, and doesn't require a lot of hand-eye coordination - perfect for a bus ride.

Why, thank you. I like yours as well. Heheh, not as attractive, but whatever.
I'd also like to say that the DS in particular is perfect for First Person Shooters. The touch-screen control makes it easy to aim. I hate playing FPS on a console because of the accuracy issues, but on the DS, it's a different story.
