You have to creep across some lattice work that you access from the balcony.

Coming from the kitchen, go through the dining room and out to the courtyard. Turn right and climb up the pipe just to bottom ledge of the balcony, then slide to the right to get onto the lattice. The study is then right in front of you. Took us MANY tries to figure that one out!
