Sorry it took so long for me to notice this topic.
This is a nice find. I personally, am going the route of going to a college that has a Game Software Development program.
I'd like to say now that you should decide if you want to design or develop games. The difference is that developers work more on the code of a game (currently, the main language they stress being C++) and designers do more of the story etc. That's not to say that the lines are blurred and in many cases, they are. However, don't be good at everything relating to game creation. Be good at something (advice straight from Midway) and make sure you do that something very well.
True, you don't need a degree to make games, but in the long run, having a Bachelors will take you a long way. Simply because if you don't make games at graduation, you still have a degree.
